Zambia's Great Migrations
15 days
Zambia is home to two of the world’s largest – but least known – mammal migrations. Our Great Migrations 4×4 tour enables our clients to witness both of these spectacles in one engaging 15-day adventure.
Each year, approximately 10 million straw-coloured fruit bats converge in Kasanka National Park for 2-3 months to feed on seasonal wild fruits. Then, as Zambia’s rainy season draws closer, storms in northeastern Angola drive the world’s second largest wildebeest migration through Liuwa Plain National Park. Liuwa’s massive horizon and open grasslands give a sense of scale and perspective rarely felt in our ordinary lives, which makes this one of our team’s favorite landscapes. These spectacles offer an opportunity for truly unique experiences that can be rivalled in only a few other places on the globe.
This is an excellent tour for a wide range of travelers, as it combines a variety of activities that you don’t often find in a traditional safari. Combined with these overlooked – and under-appreciated migrations – this adventure is sure to be a highlight of your Zambian experience.

- Experience the largest mammal migration in the world from the unique vantage point of a tree hide
- Witness the world's second largest wildebeest migration in a wild, remote setting with few others
- Discovertwo of Zambia's world-class waterfalls. Ngonye Falls and Victoria Falls
